Mercadona Online Shopping and Home Delivery
If you have ever tried to go to a village Mercadona, I'm talking ones in the centro of a small to medium sized village, you know that parking can be quite hard.
On top of the difficult parking, the often undersized stores (I know that there are larger ones around, I'm talking about those small wedged-into-a-difficult-place ones) can be a real pain to get around in unless you go during lunch hours, when parking is easy because everyone is at home and eating.
Rather than lose a precious lunch hour, however, my wife and I have discovered the incredible convenience of shopping online (in English) via the Mercadona website.
You can build a list, save it, order your food, pay for it and have it delivered for 7 euros. Not bad, if you consider that it may take the two of you (my wife and I, for example) an hour to go, shop, return and carry the groceries into the house. I think I'm willing to pay 7 euros to skip all of that and have the groceries carted into my place.
Granted, they do sometimes make mistakes, and at times certain things may not be available, but for that, a short hop to the local butcher or corner store keeps things topped up and the business passed around a little.
