Automatic Teller Network Charges
I'm not sure what the charges are in other countries for using another bank's automated teller, but I seem to recall that in Canada they weren't too high.
I remember charges on the level of cents, you know 50 cents, maybe 75 cents. Tolerable but it still left you feeling a little burnt.
Imagine my surprise the other morning when hitting a Telebanco machine (the machine for my bank was out of service - third day in a row) and getting hit with a 4.80€ fee for taking money out!!
It does tell you first, and sure I could have found my way to another branch of my own bank, but for the love of all things holy, 4.80€ is a lot of money!! Does it cost this much in other countries, or is this a special Spanish feature?
